Bresnan Bike Tour Policies
Tour supervisors reserve the right
to expel any rider from the Bresnan Bike Tour at any time if they
pose a safety hazard to themselves or the other riders. Strict
adherence to the following policies is mandatory!
Safety -
Nothing is more important than the safety of the riders and crew. As
a participant, you have a responsibility not only for your safety,
but also for the safety of your fellow riders. The
actions you take will directly affect others. Remember that you
will be sharing the road with other cyclists plus cars and trucks. This
is NOT A RACE. Please, make safety your top priority. All
participants must wear an ANSI, SNELL, ASTM or an equally approved
helmet at all times during training rides and the Bresnan Bike Tour.
Laws - You are expected to follow all State and local traffic laws.
Alcohol/Drugs -
Bresnan Bike Tour participants are never to ride under the influence
nor be in the possession of drugs or alcohol.
Earphones/Cell Phones - Bresnan TdW
participants are not permitted to wear earphones or use radios or cellular
phones while riding.
Directions -
All Bresnan Bike Tour participants must follow the directions or instructions
given to them by a Bresnan Bike Tour official, including staff
and volunteers. All riders must remain
on the designated route.
Age Limits - No one under the age
of 17 is permitted to participate in
the Bresnan Bike Tour unless approved
by the Tour supervisors and directly supervised by a guardian at all
times.
Ride Hours and Route - Riders cannot begin riding until the route is
officially open and support vans are on the road (unless otherwise approved
by Tour supervisors). In the event of foul weather, the Tour supervisors
reserve the right to change the route or shut down the ride. In
the event of rain, all riders must regroup at the designated lunch stop
and await further instructions before re-entering the route. All
decisions by the Tour supervisors are binding and failure to adhere to
their rulings could be cause for dismissal from the event. Remember
that we will be sharing the road with vehicular traffic and all riders
should stay in single file and keep to the right side of the road. In
the event you opt for the abbreviated 50-mile route, Tour supervisors
will provide instructions regarding transportation back to the inns.
