Westchester Arc: The sole
mission of Westchester Arc is to help every child and adult in
Westchester
County with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities
to live as independently and productively as possible. Founded
50 years ago by parents as a
support group, Westchester Arc has grown and now offers a broad
range of innovative and
effective services, which helps 1,600 children,
adults and their families on a daily basis.

Special Olympics New York - Hudson Valley Region: Created
in 1972,
Special Olympics New York - Hudson Valley Region, provides
year-round
sports training and athletic competition to children and
adults with developmental
disabilities residing in our local communities. Each
year, the Hudson Valley Region
supervises over 60 sports training programs
while offering 30 athletic competitions and
games for over 2,300 athletes
of all ages and ability. Athletes competing in
Special Olympics
are given the opportunity to become more competitive and
empowered
on an equal basis. Athletes learn to embrace challenges not
only
in sports, but also in school, the workplace and community life
as well.
